Rooted in bhakti, ISKCON Gurugram is a sacred space for kirtan, seva, festivals, and transformation — where every soul finds purpose through Krishna consciousness.

ISKCON: A Global Spiritual Movement

The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) was founded in 1966 by Srila A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupāda to spread the message of Krishna consciousness — the path of loving devotion to Lord Krishna. Centered on the chanting of the Hare Krishna mantra, scriptural study, and devotional service, Krishna consciousness reconnects the soul with its divine purpose. Today, ISKCON is a global spiritual movement, with temples like ISKCON Gurugram offering a life of meaning, joy, and devotion.

Philosophy

A Living Tradition of Bhakti from Krishna to Caitanya

Mission

To spread the holy names of Lord Krishna and inspire pure devotional service worldwide.

Vision

To build a global community rooted in love, devotion, and the teachings of Gaudiya Vaishnavism.

The Gaudiya Vaishnava tradition is rooted in the original Brahma-Madhva Sampradāya, a disciplic succession that begins with Lord Krishna Himself. This eternal lineage flows through Lord Brahma, then to Narada Muni, followed by Śrīla Vyāsadeva, and continues through many exalted ācāryas. Later, this line was enriched and illuminated by the teachings of Śrī Madhvācārya, a great devotee and philosopher who firmly established the principles of devotional monotheism (bhakti).

In the 15th century, this spiritual current took a profound turn with the divine appearance of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu in Navadvīpa, Bengal. Śrī Caitanya is accepted by His followers as Ka Himself in the mood of a devotee, who came to teach by example the process of pure devotional service (bhakti-yoga). Due to His appearance in the region of Gaura-deśa (Bengal), this lineage came to be known as the Gaudiya Vaishnava Sampradāya.

The core philosophical teaching of the Gaudiya Vaishnava tradition, as propagated by Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu and His followers, is known as Acintya Bhedābheda Tattva — the doctrine of “inconceivable simultaneous oneness and difference.” According to this philosophy, the living entities (jīvas) and the Supreme Lord (Bhagavān Śrī Ka) are simultaneously one in quality and different in identity. This understanding harmonizes the personal and impersonal aspects of the Absolute Truth and establishes loving devotional service (bhakti) as the supreme goal of life.

Under the modern-day guidance of Śrīla A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupāda, the founder-ācārya of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), the Gaudiya Vaishnava philosophy has spread all over the world, delivering the message of Lord Caitanya — chanting the holy names of Ka — to every town and village.
